E-Portfolio - Classroom management and organization
My approach to classroom management and organization
1. A description of your philosophy(the principles, approaches, and beliefs) of classroom management
I firmly believe that for the management of a class, according to my own point of view, I have to take into account three aspects:
1. Teacher-Student communication.
2. The interaction of the students in the activities to be developed, in addition to their didactic methods of development.
3. The classroom environment, whether material or psychological.
Describing them briefly; as a teacher my communication with the student should be a means to share thoughts, not only to inculcate them, so as a teacher, I must create a space for conversation with my students, taking both my own views and information about what is being talked about, as well as the thoughts of the students themselves. The interaction of the students when performing the activities, is the vital point of learning with educational material, students do not learn by copying things, students learn by obtaining interest in performing these activities, while students have enough interest in the activity to develop, it can be said that they will learn a topic that interests them either by their information or by the methodology of the activity used, we must bear in mind that you should always use a variety of educational materials for implementation in the classroom.
Finally, but also very important, is the classroom environment; if the students and the teacher do not get along well, or the classroom where they teach is not clean, it can lead to an environment not conducive to teaching and learning, as long as the classroom environment is correct, i.e. a positive and relaxing aura, it ensures 40% that both parties can fulfill their roles in an enthusiastic and fun way, without demotivating both in any way.
2. An account of procedures used for teaching large classes and for using group work
These are five steps to keep in mind when doing group work or long term classes:
1. Attract the attention of the students, either with some didactic method or lecture.
2. Explain the action to be performed, questioning the students from time to time, as well as solving some examples in the process.
3. Be attentive to the inactive students during the development of the activity, to guide them in the required moments.
4. From time to time stop the current activity and perform various interactive behaviors, such as moving around the booth, playing a game, etc.
5. Finally, give incentives or bonuses according to the activity performed, which can be earned by participating on the board, narrating, solving puzzles, etc.
3. A diagram of your ideal language classroom
4. A descripton of the most efective activity you developped with the students.
The activity that I was able to do with great satisfaction with the students was an activity related to personal pronouns and verbs to be (you can see in the materials made by the teacher).
During that class, I gave the copies with the activity to the eighth grade students; then I explained each point of development of the activity, all students at that time were enthusiastic about the guide, although it should be said that it was not complicated, but each point highlighted their knowledge of the verbs to be and personal pronouns, during the class I gave them the copies of the activity.
I explaines each point of the guide, to them, and do a example that they can understand.
In the development of the activity, the studenst ask mee their doubts about the guide, and some of the are the same of the othes questions, so I improvise to answer to all the class about these question in common.
In these class the students never get bored, I think they like the activity and does their best solving it.
At the end the I asked the students how they see the activity, and they response that is a bit sdificult but they like it.
5. List the digital resources you use with the student (kahoot .etc)
I use only two digital resource:
1. Kahoot
2. Powerpoint
But because of some probblems in the institution, I cannot apply more of this type of resource.
